Today's Nail Mail!

I got  a few things in the mail today, also waiting on my order from Pretty & Polished,  hopefully it will be here tomorrow!

So I got 20 nail wheels, glad they are here because I was running out of room on the other ones, badly. I like to test out looks/frankens/combinations on these before putting them on my nails.

Next is a cute nail polish collection from a Korean brand, Tony Moly. It consists of  Milky Way (GS08), Shooting Star (GS09), Pinky Star (GS10). These are all super cute, and more glitter is in them then I thought originally, which is great! I got them from this seller on Ebay, $18.99+ free shipping.

The pink package in the middle is a sample I got with the nail polish, it is called collagen moistful and it is 5ml of each: Emulsion (facial moisturizer), and Freshener (pretty sure this is a toner). These are both really light and smell great, like mild, fresh spring flowers.

The package of glitter is UV reactive, neon matte glitter. To read more about it and see some cool pictures, click read more.

There are only 3 shades in this collection, from left to right: Shooting Star (GS09), Pinky Star (GS10),  Milky Way (GS08).
Only one coat of each! Shooting Star (GS09), Milky Way (GS08), Pinky Star (GS10).

This is 2 coats of each.

Zombie from Utopia's Polish! Brainssss!

This is the second polish I purchased and have to show you from Utopia's Polish, and it is called Zombie! I have layered it over a bright dusty lime striper polish I have, I would have gone for a more khaki green, or grey but I don't have anything like that.  The background color in Zombie is the same very light, transparent yellow as in Squarepants, which means you can layer it over practically any cream color. I think this would also look good over China Glaze- Lemon Fizz  or any other pastel, especially grey, or on it's own.

1 coat of Zombie over 3 coats of lime green striper, 1  coat of Seche Vite.

Zombie is full of small blue and orange glitters, slightly larger blue glitters, and large green and white hexagons. I had no problems applying the polish, except the green hexagons were slightly curled, but not that bad, a good coat of Seche Vite made them pretty flat. I love this polish, and think the layering combinations are almost endless. Virginia from Utopia's Polish currently has this in stock, so purchase away, and check out her new summer collection!

Happy nails!

Squarepants by Utopia's Polish

I have a 2 great polishes for you today that I have purchased from Utopia's polish on Etsy, I will review Squarepants in this post and Zombie in the next. Squarepants is a great polish, it starts with a pale, transparent yellow base and is full of various sizes of hexagon glitter, blue, pink, green, holographic. It also has some red square glitter, and I am all about square glitter right now, I think it looks super cool. Here is Squarepants, layered over 2 coats of  China Glaze- Lemon Fizz, with a 1 coat of Seche Vite.

This is a great glitter topper, and could be used by itself as well. This totally reminds me of all the bright colors in the Spongebob Squarepants show. The only issue I had with the application of this polish is that the very large pink hexagons have started to curl slightly. I did remove a couple ones that were on my nail that had curled the wrong way. Not a big issue though. This polish is super unique, and I have never seen anything like it.
*Edit* Virginia has let me know that she has switched to slightly smaller pink hexagons, which do not curl, for the new formula.
Who lives in a pineapple under the sea?
Although this polish is not currently in stock in Virginia's Etsy Shop, she has lots of other great ones, as she has just released her fabulous summer collection (I purchased all of them already haha!) And she updates the shop and adds new items often. Utopia's polish is one of the first bookmarks I check when I log on. She also has in stock right now, a selection of glitters and some nice show bows for dogs, just as glittery as the polish! You can also check her out on Facebook!

Preview of 5 polishes from UtopiasPolish@ Etsy

I received my order from Virginia at Utiopa's Polish today, and although I have not had a chance to swatch them on my nails yet, I figured I would just show them off because I am very excited about them!
The swatches on the nail wheels are as per the bottle, except I <3 U and Squarepants are out of place, whoops.

You can see that the glitters are suspended really well, and you don't really need to shake them because they are really evenly distributed. These are all really great colors, and I have no clue which one I'm going to wear first.
Which one would you like to see first? Virginia makes great and unique polishes and you should definitely check her shop out!

Rah rah siss boom bah!

Today, I have a blue, cheerleader inspired Manicure to show you! I started out with 2 coats of OPI- Dating a Royal, which is a really great, kinda on the gray side of royal blue polish.

I then added chevron style stripes with black and white Jordana Pop Art stripers.

I got the rhinestones from Ebay. They are CAD $1.59 for 1000, and the seller will combine shipping if you want other colors. I got them pretty fast.

I got the inspiration from this picture. What do you think of this manicure? Is it something you would wear? I think it would look great in red or hot pink too.

Happy nails!

Neon Love!

Today for your consideration, I have a sweet neon green polish I will review for you.
Santee Plus -Green M10- with flash- 2 coats

It is Santee Plus -Green M101, and it is definitely a loud color! This color is a shimmery neon green that is a bit lighter, and more yellow toned than China Glaze- I'm with the Lifeguard. A great summer polish, and relativity fast drying.

Santee Plus -Green M10- no flash- 2 coats

This is a great color, but I will warn you, it smells really bad. Here it is topped with 1 coat of Kleancolor - Peaceful Heart, which is a clear polish with green holographic small glitter and hearts of the same type, which also smells pretty funky. I'm not sure if these are 3-free.
Kleancolor- Peaceful Heart, no flash

Would you wear this, or is it a little too bright? What are your favorite summer colors? I'm pretty sold on neons, but I also love nice cream colors as well. I picked this color up at my local guardian pharmacy.

Shatter Happens!

For this look, I used 2 colors from the OPI Nicki Minaj collection, Did It On 'Em and Fly. I really loved that collection, lots of neat polishes! I did 2 coats of these colors on either side, and then topped it off with China Glaze Crackle Glaze- Broken Hearted. I topped it off with a coat of
Sally Hansen Insta-Dri in Clearly Quick. I use this as a top coat when I run out of Seche Vite. Small towns /eyeroll. If you want anything new here, you have to order it online.

Thank you for checking out my blog!

Franken Friday!

I have been looking for a white nail polish with glitter for a while now, endlessly stalking Pretty & Polished and looking on Etsy, but not having much luck and always getting polishes snatched from my cart. I realized that making my own frakenpolish would probably be easy, and free, considering my  polish stash. So here is my white glitter polish, I hope you love it as much as I do!

The pictures are one coat of the franken over 2 coats of OPI-Alpine Snow.

I made this polish with a NYC white, Nicole by OPI- Rainbow in the Skylie, Orly Bubbly Bombshell and Nicole by OPI- One Less Lonely Glitter. To see more pictures of the polishes I used to make this and the proportions,  please click past the break!

Julep Natasha with OPI What's Dune?

So for this manicure, I decided to top Julep's Natasha with my much loved bottle of OPI What's Dune. I love this polish because it makes any (lighter colored or shimmery) polish look holographic. I have a big love for holographic nail polish!
I was surprised how much What's Dune tuned down this loud shade of orange. Gorgeous though!

Click through the jump to see more pictures, and this jazzed up with polishes from the China Glaze Summer Neons Collection!

China Glaze Summer Neons Collection

I am loving the new China Glaze Summer Neons Collection! Expect lots of posts in the next few days about these! On my thumb, I am wearing Love's a Beach, followed from the left with Orange You Hot?, Sun-kissed, I'm With the Lifeguard, and Splish Splash. You can see that they are a little shiny, but also matte, probably due to the gorgeous shimmer.
I am always looking for some good neon polishes, and when I saw that they were shimmery, neon, and only took 2 coats, I was sold! I would like to thank my lovely Aunt for getting these for my birthday!

Wear was pretty good, and a couple days later I spiced it up with some glitter spangles I got a while ago on Ebay. I don't have the exact link now, but you can find something similar by searching "nail glitter spangles" on Ebay, and usually for under $2. Good to spice up a look for a night out!

Thanks for checking out my first post on my new blog, I will be working vigilantly to take better pictures! Haha. I hope everyone in Canada is having a great long weekend!

In Canada, you can pick these up at nailpolishcanada.com
