Glitter Order from Borough Babe Supply on Etsy

 Warning: Lotsa amazing glitter pics!
Today I have to show you my glitter order from Shannon at Borough Babe Supply on Etsy.
Everything is just so great, and I am so impressed. I've ordered from Shannon before, and It was a no-brainer to make this order because her prices are good and her service is really fast.

I had wanted to make an order substitution and she nailed it right on, and when I opened the order and saw it, it was just awesome. I really don't have enough good things to say about Shannon. She had some new glittter mixes since I had ordered last and they are very inventive and imaginative. Really really cool. And I have everything so it does take a bit to impress me.

Without further ado, here's the order:
Look at those fuchsia bar glitters. Just look at them. They are totally mindblowingly gorgeous. I could look at them all day.
Here's a closer pic. I'm annoyed with my camera lately.
Closer pics of everything else, and then you have to see these mixes!

My Urban Decay and Orly Haul

Oh my gosh Ladies,
I have so many haul pictures to post up, that it is ridiculous, and I haven't been getting them up.  So I'm going to start with what I got today. Fiorella from Fiorella's Closet is my nail polish BFF/ USA order connection, and she is my lifesaver when I want something that only ships to the states.
This is a few different USA orders that she packaged like a champion and sent up to me. Everything is gorgeous!
Let's start with everything together:
Urban Decay to the left, we've got deluxe eye shadows in Scratch, Fishnet and Honey, some of my favorite Urban Decay colors. Each was $8 which is a steal because they are huge and the colors and the bomb. Don't worry, I'll show you them next pic. I also got the lick-able body powder in marshmallow, it smells awesome but I really don't know what guy would want to risk licking that and getting shimmery sparkles on his face haha! It's weird because on the bottom of the thing it tells you not to eat it and that it's not a food item,  but it's labeled lick-able body powder? Mixed messages haha!
Here are the eyeshadows, aren't they sexyyy?
Marshmallow bodypowder collage.
I think I'm going to take more advantage of collages haha.
Here's the cream eyeliner in Demolition, you can see that it's not that pigmented (closest to the right was me trying to make it as dark as possible.) It's okay for $4 though. The packaging is super cute.

365 Days of Polish $25 Christmas Surprise Bag

Hello Ladies,
Here I have the $25 Christmas Surprise Bag I bought from 365 Days of Polish to show you, check it out!
Here's what the bag looks like packaged up as a gift, you could totally give this to someone right away, it would brighten any polish lover's day!
Tons of candy! Like seriously, lots. The kisses are mint white chocolate with candy cane pieces and red stripes (see below.) The cuticle balm is red hot cinnamon, which is cool if you like cinnamon scented stuff- I don't. Only in baking. I don't think people realize that cinnamon gum gives you uber bad breath. Which is really irrelevant to this cuticle balm but I had to say it, haha! the balm is okay, it's not really pliable. If you need a decent amount, you need to scrape it out.

The polishes I got were I stole Christmas and Deadly Attraction. I am not a fan of either. They are both hella sheer. The I stole xmas one has some very cool gold flakies in it but yeah. I tried them out on a nail wheel and was like.. meh not something I will wear. So that was a bummer.

The striped Kisses!
Here's the cuticle oil, it comes in a red glass tube with a red lid and has a rollerball. The scent is called Merry Mistletoe and it smells like a mixture between The Body Shop Cranberry body butter and..wait for it... Axe. So I haven't tried it yet. May just give to my boyfriend. Yes, he would use cuticle oil, haha!

So this was a bit of a strikeout, but sometimes that happens with a surprise bag and that is a chance you take buying one. Oh well! There was lots of candy in here, that counts for something. It was delicious.

 Happy nails!☺

Tea at the Banff Springs Hotel and Nails in my Favorite Colors-Pic Heavy

 Hello Ladies!
I had the option to do tea for free and of course I had to go haha! Here are pictures of the tea room and the funky and well... not very lady-like nails I sported.  It's okay, they rock.
The flowers on the table, not sure what they are called but they were too cool.
Tables beside us.

The top tiers of the tray.
Okay, admittedly, I ate 2 sandwiches before I was like ohh yeah, I wanted to take pictures of this..
I really want one of those tea leaf strainers. They are cute as hell. The tea I chose was a strong Earl Grey so I wish they had done tea balls instead, because half way through the tea pot, I couldn't finish it. Way too bitter, I never do tea like that at home. I am a big tea fan, it is the other thing I hoard haha!
Cute little raspberry cake with gold leaf on the corners. There was also blueberry scones.
Okay and now for the nails!
Pointer and ring is Crunch Berries by Glitzology (currently having an all polishes for $5 sale) The red blue and yellow floam style polish I made myself. Red yellow and blue have been my favorite colors since I was a kid, not just because they make all the colors, but they look super cool together too.
My thumb is another polish I made myself with a YouMix Mix. I thought this manicure was super fun, reminds me of Lego. Hope you enjoyed this little peek into where I live!

Happy nails!☺

Canada TopBox 2012

Hello Ladies,

I got through on the Top Box wait list for this month and would love to show you it. I was interested  in joining Top Box because of the GlossyBox price jack up ($15-21 yikes) to see if it was a good replacement. I'm not saying i can't afford glossybox, it's just that they have raised the price but still have the same sort of (drugstore) kind of stuff. The box coming to me at the end of November will be my first month of paying the full price, so that will be a determination of whether I keep it or not.
I think a lot of ladies are on the same page as me with that.

Here is my November box, I thought it was good value for $10 shipped. Top box actually comes shipped in a tube. They should call it top cylinder! Haha.

Here is the menu for this box. Unfortunately I already have the whole China Glaze Safari collection so the polish I got isn't much use to me. I am thinking of organizing a holiday giveaway, I have a few duplicates that I'm sure someone else would love. Do you see the price listed for the China Glaze on the sheet? Yeah right, Opi isn't even $12 in Canada LOL! I don't know where they got that estimate.
I love the mini glass perfume bottle with the cute little lid. The scent itself is quite pleasant but something I don't know if I would wear because it reminds me of my mom's perfume haha. I'm sure she would love this. I feel like a perfume this big should have a spray nozzle but you just pull the cap off and the bottle is open. Purse safe? Maybe if you leave it in the box.

The body butter is in this odd little squirt tube that I had to remove the lid and cut the nozzle to use. Very well sealed and I appreciate that. It's supposed to smell like Pomegranate and figs, I would say the smell is dead on and it is moisturizing. It is also non-greasy.
The full size is $18.95 for 240ml which sounds expensive, but is actually cheaper than a Body Shop body butter. The Body Shop always has killer sales though so yeah. I love their lotion and always stock up on the 50% off sales. I am loving the new peach and mango ones.
The China Glaze polish is Jungle Queen. I haven't actually worn my own of this one yet. Only being able to wear neutrals at work is not helping with my mission to try all the polishes I actually have haha.
The Benefit Mascara is nice, I'm not sure why it's called "They're Real" because it doesn't have any lengthening fibers in it, so of course they are real. It's nice though and I find the small tube so so convenient, I can keep it in my purse and even when it isn't, it greatly cuts down on the mascara I tend to get on my bangs.
The only downside of this product is that your lashes feel petrified after around 6 hours and they are rock solid. It's hard to get off. I recommend oil based makeup remover for this.

Okay so I just looked at the TopBox website and they are raising the price to $12 come December. I wish everyone would stop raising the prices. Gosh!

TopBox is having a contest to win skin care products from B.Kamis, Click here for more details!

What do you think? Would you be happy to get this box too? Do you already get TopBox? Let me know in the comments!

Happy nails!☺

Review of Vivid Lacquer

 Good Evening!
I have 3 polishes from Anni at Vivid Lacquer that I was given to review. Here they are:
The 3 on the bottom. The top row was the Halloween collection in mini sizes, which I purchased because I thought it was a totally dead on Halloween collection, definitely the best out of all the indie ones I saw. I appreciate good polish artistry! Now I find that I only ever buy indie polishes if they are very unique because I have so many ingredients to make my own polishes now.

The ones I was given to review are called: Hivemind, Assemble and Sketchbook. Here's Hivemind first:
As you can tell from the pictures, this was thick and lumpy. It was hard to work with, and some of the black hexagons were curled. This polish is great in concept, but the formula didn't work for it. The base was like trying to apply glitter glue.
1 coat over 2 coats of ORLY Lemonade, which is a great pale yellow creme and opaque in 2 coats.
Up next to bat is Assemble:
Assemble is a very interesting black jelly polish, and not something I would typically go for. This is 2 coats. I feel like this is something best worn on its own, if you layered it over black I think alot of the effect of the glitter would be lost. This polish was a bit gooey as well, but nothing major.
Last is my favorite of the bunch, Sketchbook.

The formula in this one was the best out of the 3, and I love the glitter combination, it is so cool. Lots of tiny black and white glitters, with just a touch of holographic sparkle pigment. You can't see that very well in these pictures, I don't know why they turned out so blurry.
This is over only 1 coat of ORLY Snowcone. I have 4 polishes from the ORLY Sweet collection and the formula on them is impeccable. they are all great. The other 2 I have are Gumdrop and Lollipop.
It was just such a great collection of unique pastel colors. Really cool.

I have not worn the Halloween polishes yet, (I know, it's almost Christmas...) but I feel that the formula on them is less gooey. I'm not sure if it's just the base over time or what. What do you think of these polishes?
I would like to thank Anni at Vivid Lacquer for providing them for my review!

 Happy nails!☺

The Post With the Big Glitter Order!

Hello everyone! Do you love glitter? You are going to love this post! I wanted to show you one of my glitter orders I got a month or so back. I ordered these glitters both from YouMix, and The Glitter Source on Etsy.

Here are the Glitter Source glitters:
The top row is .08 lavender, orange and coral, and .15 black. Also awesome yellow daisy glitter, periwinkle glitter, and rose holographic butterfly glitter, which is way too cool.

Here are the YouMix glitters:
Three shredded glitters on top, featured together in my last post. We have fuschia, purple and teal. I feel like teal is having a nail polish moment right now, and man I am not a fan of that color. front row is navy blue, light blue and yellow mix, red, yellow, blue mix (awesome.) Beside those two is iridescent squares that flash from green to orange. My favorite iridescent color is blue to purple, I think I may have accidentally bought these instead but they are still nice.
 Group hug!
The pile up pic that was my Facebook giveaway pic that was super popular.
A previous order I forgot to take pics of when it got here, there is a usa glitter mix (love), a rainbow glitter mix, holo squares, red yellow and orange mix, and a pastel mix of blue, green and pink.
A look into the USA mix bag. What do you think? Which glitters are your favorite? I have sooo many pictures I need to make into posts, hopefully I can get them out soon!

Happy nails!☺

Ylin Color Changing Nail Polish in 07- Also Known as OMG MARCUS WHY ARE YOU NOT AS EXCITED ABOUT THIS AS I AM?

Hello Ladies!
I am back after yet another gnarly set of medical procedures that didn't help me, so is my life.  I got this polish from the Born Pretty website and it is cool as all hell! Warm, it is a bright fluorescent blue. Cold, it is the gorgeous dusty, periwinkle-eske purple. $7.84 for this, lousy formula but worth it because both colors it changes to are off the hook!

The tips are a franken I made of 3 different shredded glitters from YouMix. Teal, magenta and purple.

Really really neat. It was bright blue through out for me because I have a set of nubbins right now (stop breaking, jerksss.) The weirdest thing about this polish is that is stays unmixed in the bottle and is all these super random weird colors in there, you have to shake it to make it not streaky; but the colors are still going to be separated looking. When I put this on, it was purple and then turned blue when it was dry. It's strange putting a top coat on because it turns purple while you do that and then turns back upon dryness.  You never see that hot magenta color in the bottle, on the nail.
It comes in a box, which is a nice touch. Love polish in boxes even though the boxes are pointless haha.
Okay, so I saved the strangest thing for last. It has no smell. Trust me on this, I have a highly specialized nose. No smell at all. I was like... is this going to stay on longer than a day (short answer: no) or wash off without a topcoat? (did not try.)
The polish after some ice water.
S

My test run of the Urban Decay Body Jewelry temporary tattoo set. I look hella yellow in this pic.. hrmm.
So I ordered a bunch of cool stuff from the urban decay friends and family sale, including the vice pallette (EEEPP!) I have been a mucho fan of Urban Decay eyeshadow since I discovered it 5 years ago. This temporary tattoo kit was like $2 so I added it on a whim. Little did I know that the temporary tattoos in this kit are many and some are over fist size.
There are 3 sheets and they are massive. Like a foot+ long and almost a foot wide. It's mostly feathers, chains and flowers. Nothing really bad ass unfortunately. I will use the biggest greyscale flower one as a bad ass chest piece at the club one day. A girl's gotta dream about being able to walk like a normal person again someday.

Mad Love to Fiorella for forwarding my USA orders my way, it really makes my day that I can order from places like Urban Decay because of you!

Happy (color changing!) nails!☺

How to Make Your Own Gold Top Coat With Real 24KT Gold for Less Than $10

Since gold top coats are becoming very popular but they are very expensive,  I wanted to show you how you can make your own. First things first, open an internet browser and go to Ebay (haha!) I got the gold for this from Thailand and it's really great, and has held up the at least 5+ months since I made it. Here's a link to something similar. So you eagerly wait for that to arrive at your house (that amount of gold will make a 10ml bottle thats full of flakes) and then you will look at all these lousy pictures Shenailigans took 5+ months ago! Also you can tell your friends who spent too much on the 18KT topcoat that yours is actually 24KT so you win. Haha take that friends!
 Okay so you will need:
  1.  The gold sheets.
  2.  A 5ml polish bottle filled with a half and half mixure of suspension base/ regular nail polish base (clear nail polish would work in a pinch though. Not top coat.)
  3. That's all!
Open your prepared bottle of polish, and dry the brush on the sides. Dab the brush on the gold sheet, and stick the brush with gold on it back in the bottle. Never touch the gold leaf sheets with your skin while you are doing this because it will stay there. I like to give the brush a bit of a twirl to get the sheet to stick to the brush more before I put it in the bottle.
The first sheet goes in the bottle.

You will repeat the process above until each sheet is in the bottle. Move the brush up and down in the bottle quickly after each sheet, so they break apart.

Last sheet!
When the sheets get caught on the inside of the bottle entrance, just use the brush to push them down.
Here is the finished product! Pretty cool, huh? Project total: around $7-8.50 depending on what supplies you have already.

One coat over Pretty&Polished's Black Swan. What do you think? Let me know in the comments, and happy nail polish crafting!

Happy nails!☺
